Our commitment

Základní organizace Českého zahrádkářského svazu Sosnová guarantees that this website is designed and maintained to be accessible to people of all abilities. We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA, and we treat accessibility as an ongoing responsibility rather than a one-time task.

Measures we have taken

• Semantic HTML structure with a single main heading per page and a logical heading order.
• Colour combinations tested for sufficient text contrast in both light and dark display settings.
• Full keyboard operability, with visible focus indicators on every interactive element.
• Form fields with permanently visible labels, clear required-field marking and descriptive error handling.
• Descriptive link text instead of "click here", and accessible names on icon-only buttons.
• Responsive layout that reflows on small screens and remains usable at 200% zoom.
• Decorative icons hidden from assistive technology; no information conveyed by colour alone.
• No automatically playing audio, video, carousels or flashing content.

Images and media

We deliberately avoid synthetic or misleading imagery. Photographs published on this site are authentic images of our members, gardens and activities, and each is given meaningful alternative text. Where a photograph has not yet been supplied, a clearly labelled placeholder is displayed instead of a decorative substitute.

Accessibility of our activities

Our workshops and working days are planned with mixed abilities in mind. Where possible we use level, firm paths, raised beds and seated tasks, and we can pair a participant with a volunteer assistant on request. Written materials are available in large print on request. Please tell us about any access requirement when registering so that we can prepare properly.

Known limitations

Some downloadable documents produced in earlier years may not yet be fully tagged for screen readers. If you encounter such a document, contact us and we will provide an accessible alternative, normally within ten working days.
